you're the limb I've lost but somehow I still feel it

Crazy sunny day! Regretted not putting my sunnies on. Here's my gorgeous new motel dress! I absolutely love this style with the deep cut arms and high neck, it's so 90s! And I managed to pick it up in the sale for £18 :)! The purple version is sold out now unfortunately but you can get the blue version here for £35. I love wearing this on its own or with a sheer vest over the top, or with my staple black skater skirt, and with my standard dark lip. I've unintentionally lost a stone and a half recently and I feel much more comfortable wearing bodycon, so I've been stocking up on a few motel dresses. This one is my favourite, but I also bought this one (which is also no longer available online), and I've got my eye on this gorgeous zabby one. I tried to buy it today but it was out of stock in my size, boo! I actually got an invite from the lovely Selina at Motel to their Motel event in just over a week! I'm going with my sister and I'm really excited! Let me know if you're going :)

I'll follow you into the dark

Say hello to my cat Bubble :)! She's such an affectionate cat, so when I'm outside taking photos she just wont leave me alone, my sister spends the whole time shouting 'bubble' so she goes to her instead ha! But I guess blogging and cats go hand in hand so I popped a picture of her in here.

I should have got a picture of my top without the coat on but it was soooo cold I didn't even think about taking the jacket off, but you totally can't see the leopard print cross. It's that top that every blogger had last year I think, but I still love throwing it on. Managed to pick up the leather panelled skirt for a fiver recently, couldn't even believe it! Such a bargain.

Just a quick one today because I have a full day of uni followed by work (I'm a Dominos delivery driver, very glamorous!) Let me know if you're going to the Motel christmas party! I've fallen out of the twitter loop and don't really know where to begin with all the x factor tweets that mean nothing to me :/ Have a lovely day guys :) x

I'm just not destined to be a regular blogger am I? I'd love to blog more often, I really miss not only posting, but reading everyone's blogs, finding that new source of inspiration that makes me mix up my wardrobe! The only reason I haven't been able to keep up my regular posts is because I struggle to feel comfortable in front of a camera unless certain people are behind it - these are taken by my lovely twin sister.

I have been wearing this jacket every day pretty much since French Connection gifted it to me. Now please excuse me while I gush because I just adore it - and not because it was gifted. I'd actually been eyeing up this jacket to buy for myself when I received the email asking me if I'd like to choose an item - I'm not the kind of blogger that would ever lose their integrity for a free gift! I will always be honest. Back to the jacket! It's not real leather, but I honestly could never tell until I read it on the website. It is just the perfect biker jacket don't you think? It has quilted shoulder and quilted elbow patches, and is the perfect length to throw on over dresses or over a hoodie and leggings to uni in the freezing cold Staffordshire weather! I've been wearing it daily for over three months now too and it's still in perfect condition with no rips in the lining or anything (don't you find that happens with EVERY leather jacket? Drives me mad) so I can say wholeheartedly that it is excellent quality too! It is literally the perfect biker and I am so happy with it and grateful to French Connection for giving it to me :)

I picked up this top in the sale at Topshop for £7.50! I really love the print as it has Daisies on it! Motel have some gorgeous items for sale at the moment but I'll post more on that another time - I've had a bit of a motel binge recently and bought three of their bodies and 2 bodycon (!! not like me!) dresses, I love them! I wear this shaped skirt all the time at the moment, I just think it's so flattering, so expect to see my black and leather versions pretty regularly!

I hope you're all enjoying the autumny sun, I think this is the last week where everything will look pretty with the crispy leaves on the floor until it rains and all turns to slippery sludge and I end up falling on my bum! And I JUST realised - HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)! I should have done a halloweeny post...Maybe after the weekend of celebrations!

I love this outfit. I've been wearing this look quite a lot recently, one of my motel bodies with this topshop skirt. The only trouble with the bodies is they don't have poppers at the bottom which makes going to the loo in this outfit a nightmare. I like how I can go from day to night in this too :) Motel make the perfect items for day to night changes. I've also just seen that this body is now £6.50 on ASOS, a steal and still available in all sizes - I fully recommend!

I don't know if you've seen on twitter but I'm currently selling a few bits a pieces. They're all on my instagram (or statigram here) and I'm selling my kate moss for topshop dress too. If you're interested in anything please give me an email :)

you're as decorated as the day that you left

I hate these pictures but I just had to show you this t-shirt. I love the print on it, I've just seen that it went down to £10 in the sale which is gutting! The shoes are from Nelly and are actually a bit too small for me so I'll probably end up selling them :( They're a size 3 if anyone is interested! Perfect condition as I've only worn them for about an hour in total! Before I bought from Nelly, all I had heard were bad things, but I bought 3 pairs of shoes from them, they delivered quickly (and it was free postage!) and when I returned a pair of shoes to them the refund went through fine. I'd fully recommend them for anyone who hasn't shopped with them before.

I've had a crazy few days, had to pack up all my stuff in my house because I thought I needed to move out but fortunately I had a few extra days to organise things. Still not sure what I'm doing/where I'm going to be living, but had a few exciting emails this week which helped to cheer me up!

Even though I have NO money, I've found myself internet shopping before swiftly closing the page before I have to pay! There are so many gorgeous things on the high street at the moment I'd love to snap up, I always love the AW collections. I'm subscribed to Goldie London's newsletter and their new collection is absolutely gorgeous - you have to check it out! The smoke print pieces are stunning and I love the fifth picture down in this post; that embellished top is beautiful!

Enjoy your Sunday :)

to think, of all the paintings we would be without, if Van Gogh had gone and died face down, from loss of blood the night he went and hacked his ear off.

dress (worn as top); topshop / skater skirt; topshop / vectra studded slippers; topshop.

This NEVER happens. An all topshop outfit? I didn't even realise until I just typed it out. This dress is well old, I got it in the sale and never really wore it cos it's a size 6 and bodycon. I totally don't wear bodycon anymore! But worn under this skirt I really love it! I've worn it a couple of times recently, I think it's quite dressy for the day with the embellished neckline, but I throw my grey hoodie over it and I think it dresses it down nicely :)

I got my nose pierced a few days ago! But to be super organised, I have another two outfit posts to post before I'll be posting it on here. I got a ring and I think it's a bit bent funny so I need to go back and have that fixed. Any tips for looking after it would be helpful, I want it to heal quickly but properly. I'm allergic to savlon so so far just been using salt water and not putting make up on it/touching it, very difficult when the ball keeps dropping out and making me look like a man. I'm sounding really positive about this piercing aren't I?! Anyway, I'm gonna go research the representation of women in 24! Have a nice day :)

I love this dress and cardigan hoodie thing SO much! I found the dress in Matalan for £14, I never ever go in there but popped in out of boredom and came out with this. I love the bright, clashing colours with the aztec print. It's also got a dead 90s high neckline with the deep cut shoulders, a shape I love at the moment. I can't believe how much I spent on this cardigan, EIGHTY FIVE ENGLISH POUNDS. That's like, the vast majority of £100. That's a LOT of money to me right now. I don't recommend buying it at all though! It is such poor quality, I've got so many holes in it where the thread just comes undone, and it's totally not worth the aforementioned fortune. But I do love it and wear it all the time so I'll stop bitching about it now!

Going on a trip to Keele hall today and hopefully the sun will come out! Hope you all enjoy your Sundays :)

It's been a while since I did one of these! Sorry for the blogging break, I don't really have an explanation other than I was having too much fun to find time to do this. Now summer has started to drag with no money and everybody being in exotic places, I thought I'd start blogging again. This is what I wore yesterday, I really love Motel, they have gorgeous prints and they're bodies/leotards are perfect teamed with this skirt or my beloved skater skirt from topshop. I also love throwing this hoodie on over dressy outfits, I'm sure I'll post an example soon.

Don't really know what to say as I'm a bit out of the loop! Hope you're all enjoying the sun and please leave me your blog links as I've lost all my bookmarks now I have a new laptop :) I need a blogging binge! And I've been listening to Charlie Simpson loads recently, I think this is the first blog I've posted without Brand New lyrics!

living in a jar, think the lid's the sky

stones in your eyes
Stones in your eyes, stones in your eyes,
Stones in your eyes, stones in your mouth,
Stones in your ears, stones in your mind,
Stones in your eyes, stones in your eyes.
living in a jar, think the lid's the sky
Living in a jar, think the lids the sky,
You're hoping for a savior on your cross outside.
Stars are just a million little fireflies,
The sun is just the whole world and the light outside.
so can I tie my key to this electric kite
Maybe I should rest but on the seventh day,
I've created nothing and I'm wide awake,
So can I tie my key to your electric kite?
The rooster crowed twice and you kissed me good night.
everyone's an oyster with their grain of sand
There's too many saviours on my cross again,
I know I'm never going to be a perfect man.
Everyone's an oyster with their grain of sand,
I love you most and some, now it has to end.

Hi guys! Sorry it has been so long since I last posted, I've been stupid busy over the easter break from uni and the past couple of weeks with deadlines and exams. I've had some exciting emails recently, including some giveaways and competitions that I can't wait to share with you, but for now I thought I'd leave you with something I wouldn't usually post on here. This is my photography project that I submitted today. I stupidly leave all my assignments to the last minute so this was a mad 24hour dash with far too many hours sleep in between. I based the photographs on a song by Brand New called 'In a Jar' and Plato's Allegory of the Cave. I'm happy with how it turned out but I definitely want to do some more with it. Anyway, hope you like it and I'll be back soon :)

sequin print top; ashish for topshop / leather pleated skirt; h&m / necklace; asos / rings; gifts ebay blah blah blah

Oh haiiii skirt that every blogger, their cute pug/kitten and their mum has! I bought the primark one before it exploded on the blogosphere too but hated the elasticated waistband so when I saw this one in H&M I had to pick it up, swear it was only £15/£20 as well so an absolute barg. It's scandalously short though, I've worn it on a few nights out and I've had to wear lace shorts under it - I always wonder if I do flash someone and I'm wearing my lace shorts, do you reckon they'd just think I was wearing massive pants?! I'd be so embarrassed if they did.

When I saw the Topshop New Gen tshirts I knew I had to get one, but I couldn't narrow it down so I ended up with this Ashish one and the Mary Katrantzou one as well. I keep trying to plan outfits with my Mary Katrantzou floral one but I'm finding it hard to not just play it safe with a black body con skirt, I wish I was as cool as Charlene so I could wear it with classed prints!

I went to the #LDNLUNCH event on Saturday and had such a good time meeting other bloggers there! I travelled up with Vicky whose blog you MUST avoid if you don't want to spend all your money on pretty jewellery! She was great company and hopefully we'll go to some more events together in the future :)! I met lots of the other girls too who were all lovely, I've definitely found some new daily reads from it! I will link them all once Sophie and Eloise post all of the links up - massive thank you to them for sorting it all out for us!

P.S. I have coined the term 'outfit blogger' for myself. I know nothing about fashion.

my smiling face that's on my head is on a silver plate.

I hate my hands.

animal drop tunic; topshop / aviator; topshop / belt; topshop / flatforms; asos / necklace; h&m / rings; eBay and gifts.

Got this dress/tunic with my friends topshop discount this week and I LOVE it. The colours are so hideous and clashy but amazing. I love this drop hem thing, I used to struggle so much to find it and only had a couple of pieces with it so I'm glad to see a few bits about with it now. I need to buy a new leather jacket, I have...6/7 but two have massive holes in and I just don't like my others. So tempted by this bad boy. I also really like this, I bet it vomits on the blogosphere (ha) in a week or so.

I absolutely HATE my hands in this picture and the nails are disgusting, I don't know what the hell made me do a french manicure, it looks grotesque - I'm sorry, it won't happen again guys! My rings make up for it though don't they? ;)

I don't have much else to say to be honest, had a shit week so I'm off for Mojitos! I hope your week has been much better - I'll be cheerful next time, I promise.

if we all don't take cover we're all gonna fall back in love, again.

cobweb top; topshop / bralet; topshop / leather aviator; topshop / cobalt blue midi skirt; forever21 / glitter 'litas'; eBay / jewellery; same as always

Ok ok, so I didn't really wear these shoes out, but how else would I ever get to show you these beauties? They are so ridiculously high I have no idea if I'll ever wear them because I can't walk in them - any tips for stupidly high heels?! They're currently sitting pretty on my chest of drawers. I found them on eBay for £30, absolute bargain!

I found this midi in Forever21 for I dunno, like £16 I think? I never thought I'd wear a midi but after the encouragement I got for my topshop leopard midi I had to give this a go. I don't think it's the most flattering on my thunder thighs, but I love that it's layered and goes shorter in the middle. If I had any money I'd definitely be purchasing a skirt like this one here. A brand which has really caught my eye recently is Reverse - they have so many gorgeous pieces and now I'm expanding my hemlines, or rather, elongating them (word?!), I really fancy getting one of their dresses, this one and this one has really caught my eye. I've spent far too much money though since the stunning Audrey over at Frassy introduced me to Nelly. I bought these, these, these and this, and come pay day these beauties will be mine too - kicking myself for not including them in my order, because I hate paying postage so I know I'll end up spending another 75Euro so I get the free delivery! (I'll probably get this!)

This is also my entry into the LG 6 Motion Give us a Spin Competition via etcLlymlrs! When I saw the picture on the right I thought the skirt embodied the movement the competition called for so I had to enter - with the gorgeous blue colour it really reminded me of water too. Fingers crossed!

Today I'm spending my day watching Season 4 of Breaking Bad, followed by Marcel Carne's 'Le Quai Des Brumes', Truffaut's 'Les Quatre Cents Coups' and Jean-Jacques Beineix's 'Diva'. I'm SO not as sophisticated as that makes me sound.

P.S. Just found these dresses from inlovewithfashion - NEED! I could dress it down with a chunky black jumper during the day too. Hurry up pay day!

and we just want to sleep.

'glamorous' lace dress; meemee.com / cream fur coat; miss selfridge / studded belt; topshop / curved cross earrings; topshop / flatforms; asks / rings; ebay/gifts.

This little outfit is what I wore on Wednesday when I saw my absolute favourite band, Brand New, for the second time in a week. I saw them in Manchester last week and I saw them at the O2 in Birmingham on Wednesday and it was just incredible. I was up in the balcony so I got to see everything and I was just so mesmerised and happy to be there, and just massively appreciative of the band - I'm all gushy about them now! I've loved them for almost a decade now and I pretty much listen to them exclusively (note the majority of my post titles...!) I'm absolutely terrified they're going to announce that they're over at the end of this tour (tonight I think) because they didn't play any new songs and they haven't had a new album for three years. I think I've seen them 6/7 times now, they are just incredible live. I think I've typed too much about this...

On to the primary (and only) focus of this blog, my outfit. This gorgeous dress is by one of the many brands at MeeMee.com. I was introduced to this website by El (click for her tumblr which has some of her incredible styling on!) and it wasn't long before I'd put in an order. They stock loads of different brands, tonnes which I'd never heard of before, and are soon going to have Mink Pink on there (an absolute favourite of mine), they just started stocking Finders Keepers and I really love this playsuit by Motel. Do not go on this website if you're poor like me! Anyway, I really love the shape of this dress, and because of the fully lace top half you can wear it a few different ways and make the dress completely unique. I've tried it with a nude bralet and a black bralet (like I've worn here) but you could put a strapless bra with it like the team at MeeMee styled it, or I think you could play with some colour like a gorgeous deep purple, plum or crimson bra/bralet (braletbraletbralet) As always, I teamed it with my trusty studded belt - my primark ones I've had for years are starting to fall apart so I had to invest in this little number; at £22 it was a lot steeper than my £1 efforts!

I also have a little story about this coat! I saw it on the 'last chance to buy' rail around the time a lot of coats had gone in the sale in the Arcadia group; it hadn't been marked down from £89, but I made out to the assistant that I'd seen it on the website reduced so she'd check the price for me and yay! It was £59! Plus I had a 25% off deal (read; a very kind friend who works there!) so I ended up paying less than half the original price! I love it so much, although I've found it quite hard to wear; I feel like I can only wear it with all black, any suggestions?

I've become obsessed with 90210, so the rest of my day will entail me finishing off season 4 - I hadn't ever seen it until a couple of weeks ago; the lovely and beautiful Alix has been enjoying my 'vintage 90210' tweets - NICK CANNON IS IN HER HOTEL ROOM?! and OH. MY. GAY. are probably favourites ;)

just realised how much I've written about meemee; genuinely not a sponsored post, they just have a lot of great items and great customer service too!

we have neither the plans nor disguises

coat; forever21 / shirt; vintage / leggings; eBay / flatforms; asos / necklace; h&m / earrings; topshop/ lipstick; estee lauder plum couture.

need to acknowledge the state of my hands; I'm not self harming, it's my kitten! stop with the formspringzzz

Hii! I'm a bad blogger aren't I? I swear that's all I ever type in my posts. I had some personal stuff I had to sort out which is why I've been absent of late, plus, I just find I don't have time when I'm at uni. I'm always hungover or napping, sorry! I am SO grateful to have hit 550 followers already though, that's more than one new subscriber every day this year! So thank you for following and sticking with my sporadic ways :)! (are smiley faces blog appropriate? probably not...)

So, I got this coat in Forever21 a fair few weeks ago. I saw it was a small and tried it on, but it was huge. I fell in love with the oversized sort of 90s look about it though (I've had a lot of This is England comments...) and it wasn't until I'd been wearing it for a fortnight that I realised it was a mans coat; oops. If anything though, it's taught me to shop in mens section more often; this was only £12.99 in the sale! I adore my flatforms which I got with a 25% discount code on ASOS; can't stop wearing them! They're just like the Office ones I've been lusting after since I saw the beautiful Charlene wearing hers, but I couldn't afford the hefty price tag, so I'm dead pleased ASOS answered my wishes for a pair; in suede too, my favourite material.

OH HAIIII DISCO PANTS! Not really lolz. Everyone's going mad for them, and although I do like them, I don't know where the sudden hype has come from? They've been around for literally about ten years. I've had these eBay versions for probably a year now (still available via LetsParty, I also have the burgundy and lilac (!) ) but I never wear them as I tend to only wear tights and skirts, but I do really like these with my flatforms. I've worn this outfit three times this week; that's gross isn't it? But it's just so easy to throw on. I actually have three pairs of leggings on here and two long sleeved tops under that shirt, so it's surprisingly cosy. I can see myself teaming more longer tops with leggings from now on - but don't worry; I will NOT be sporting that leggings as trousers look any time soon. Anyway, I'm boring myself. Hope everyones uni results are going well! I get mine a week today, nervous! Oh and if you're a real person and work; HEY WEEKEND :D!

we all dance a jingo cabaret

leopard print midi dress; topshop / twig cross necklace; fashionology / fluffy cape cardigan; staple / hilda shoes; miista.

I know right, a midi? On me? My 5"3(ish) frame?! My scandalously short skirt loving self? I honestly don't know what got into me. Well, I do. My beautiful sister tried this on in Topshop just before she left me to go back to London (sobsob) and it looked so gorgeous I had to try it for myself. I wish I'd tried this with my leather jacket now, but maybe I'll try that in future - would that be too samey to repeat it on here? Probably...

I've never worn a midi before but envied those who could. This type of dress definitely calls for heels as the helpful people of twitter instructed! And what better heels than my beautiful new Hildas?! Unfortunately I can't see myself wearing this to uni as I'm not as taken by it in flat shoes, nor can I see it on a night out, but it is perfect for a meal as Lauren pointed out. I actually wore this when I popped to see my Mum before I came back to uni (yes, here's another image I prepared earlier, see how prepared I was with my blog before my exams?!) I knew she'd love the 90s grunginess of it all. I'll definitely be experimenting with this length again.

And queue huge sigh of relief; MY EXAMS ARE OVER! I know I won't do nearly as well in them as I wanted to, I've really struggled with anxiety this semester which was definitely enhanced with some personal stresses recently. As soon as I sat down in the exam my mind went completely blank, don't you just hate that? I also know that I didn't revise enough due to personal stuff so I'll have to try much harder this semester to make up for it. I'm doing a French cinema module which I'm so excited to start because I love Jean-Luc Godard, and a photography module which I can't wait for because I enjoyed the one I did last year so much. If you are a french cinema/photography fan please pop any recommendations in the comments, I'd really appreciate it :)

And...I JUST GOT THRICE TICKETS! That's all I need to say on that :)
