dream in japanese

vest top; h&m / shorts; topshop / cardigan; staple / necklace; topshop / studded hobo bag; maison du posh / hilda shoes; miista

Say 'hello' to my beautiful new bag! If you follow me on twitter, you're probably bored of hearing about it, but I absolutely adore it. I spied it with my sister in Selfridges a few days ago, and I thought I'd have a little look, but never dreamed that I'd leave the shop with it! I should have photographed them really, but basically, it was missing 4 studs (which you absolutely can't tell) so instead of being £695, it was massively reduced! I decided that because I fell so, so in love with it, and I've never felt such buttery soft leather, I should buy it with some of my 21st birthday money, and I'm so glad that I did! Aside from the miserable sales assistant (why do they assume that everyone is poor? I am poor, but please don't insult me you horrible cow!) who I really hope doesn't get ANY commission ever.

The shorts are new too; I picked them up in Topshop the same day while I was at the Trafford centre after having them on my wish list for a while. I rarely wear shorts, especially not ones this short, and I know they're really not flattering AT all on my shape, but I just love the pattern. They have some ruffles over the pockets too, and these are the FIRST shorts to ever fit my waist properly - they're usually far too low cut or too big if they fit my bum! Such a pain.

And lastly, these beautiful shoes, which fit like a glove and are of AMAZING quality cost me guess how much? £1. ONE ENGLISH POUND. How you're asking? Because the crazy people at Miista decided to do a sale whereby people tweet about the shoe they want to be cheaper, and based on their Klout score, they knock a percentage off! The sale ends on Friday so hurry up and get tweeting while you can! My flatmate and I are after these gorgeous wedges after seeing them on the Topshop website - so feel free to tweet for us ;)

I also have to acknowledge that I've hit over 500 GFC readers! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really appreciate every single face that pops up on there and your comments make my day :) I can't believe my blog is barely a year old, I feel like it has come so far for such a crap, sporadic blogger like myself. Must. Try. Harder. Thank you to all of you, old readers and new, for taking the time to read my blog :)

Drinking champagne from a paper cup.

brown faux fur double breasted coat; topshop / dalmation print shoes; topshop / rings; fashionology and eBay.

These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago but I completely forgot to post them! This is another one of my new fur coats. It went in the sale for £68, and I actually only ended up paying £18 for it because I had an exchange and also signed up for an Outfit credit card just so I could get the £20% off! I really love it. It's completely different to my black fur so I felt like I could justify it - this one has a real vintage 'car coat' feel about it! And it's brown...although that's pretty axiomatic!

I've included some extra pictures in today's post because, HOW strange are they? I love how they turned out but it was completely unintentional. When I imported them they just ended up like this, I really panicked that I'd broken something! I recently came across Dan Mountford's work with double exposures (I know these pictures aren't the same thing!) and I absolutely love them. I'm doing a photography module again next semester so I hope that I can do something inspired by him.

It was my 21st birthday yesterday! I got thoroughly spoilt and I've still got presents from my family to come! I might have to be really self indulgent and dedicate a whole post to birthday shenanigans! For those of you who don't know, I am a twin, but my beautiful sister (we're non-identical, I'm aware that comes across massively arrogant for those who don't know us!) lives in Surrey at Uni so I couldn't spend the day, as I always have, with her. I also had loads of work due in so, apart from the evening (another day, another blog...) it just felt like any other day. This weekend will be our real birthday, Rosie is coming to my house on Friday and we're spending the evening at something called Winterfest - it's effectively Keele Univeristy's winter ball but a lot messier! Then Saturday we'll be visiting family - and she's being spoilt rotten! I can't wait to see her face when she get's her presents :) Wow, I think this is possibly THE most self indulgent post (the irony) of my entire blog - which evidently, turns 1 soon!

I'm absolutely shattered now, so I'm going to watch The Shining (I'm terrified already) with my flatmates and gorge on Eton Mess! Hope everyone's uni assessments are going ok - it'll be Christmas soon!

P.S. Did I really put 'shenanigans' in my blog? Dear lord.

textured faux fur coat; topshop / shirt; vintage / cross necklace; primark / vault glitter shoes; topshop / nails; avon matte red and matte blue.

I wore this some time last week, but seeing as I'm such a sporadic blogger, I never got around to posting it. My mum bought me (and my twin sister!) this coat when we went shopping recently! It's my Christmas present so don't go thinking I'm spoilt, but it felt really nice to try something on without even thinking for a second that it could be mine, and being spoilt on the spot! Finally, a winter I won't freeze through!

I got this shirt a while ago but I forgot all about it, I really love it. It's huge on me but I love the oversized, iliterallyjustthrewthison look it has. The shoes just add a little bit of sparkle a dull winter calls for! This sounds well silly I know but this outfit makes me feel like I'm a dead rich Hollywood film star - note the red lips ha! I think this will be one of my most worn combinations this winter. I rarely wear the same combination more than once but I really like this and I can definitely see me wearing this at least once a week to uni!

It's my 21st well soon, help me find a dress, please?!

P.S. Don't blame me if this makes your heart melt!

dress (worn as top); topshop / skirt; primark / cardigan; primark / vectra studded slipper shoes; topshop / rings & necklace; gifts / lip colour; topshop lip marker in vamp

Sorry these images lack continuity in lighting etc, we messed up the settings on the camera and I am too tired to edit them properly!

HELLO! So sorry it's been forevs, I've been shattered since freshers, it absolutely ruined me. Three years doing it and I should know better - had to leave my first lecture to throw up I was so hungover, I was so embarassed. The worst bit? It was this image that induced it in my Gender in Cinema module, so horrible! Anyway, vomiting aside, I'm loving being back at uni but I completely forgot how hectic it was! So no doubt my blogging will be sporadic as ever, apologies in advance!

I love this skirt, I bought it a few days ago and then the beautiful Lily posted an outfit including hers. I love how she wore hers with a jumper over it and I will definitely be trying it soon for uni! One of my favourite things about blogging is seeing how many different ways people wear the same piece!

I'm a little bit obsessed with leather at the moment, I bought this gorgeous dress from Missguided the other day and can't wait to wear it. I think I could wear this in the day with the cardigan I've got on in these pictures, because it's so big (I double sized up! I love massive cardigans at the moment) it would dress it down a bit. I also bought a bodycon black leather dress from h&m the other day. I have no idea why because it looks like fetish wear, but then Maria tweeted me saying I could wear it with a jumper over the top, a look I've since tried and LOVE, and I'll be so cosy in the winter!

Anyway, I should be getting to bed really because I've got a 9-5 day tomorrow (who said Media was a doss course? Holla!) and then I'm giving blood later, I can't wait to give blood as I've wanted to for so long but whenever I've gone to the drop in centre there's always a huge wait. I managed to get an appointment this time and I'm going to register to donate bone marrow soon too. You never know who your close to that may need these things, and as I suffer with bad kidneys, you never really know what's around the corner so I hope this brings me a bit of good karma, cos God knows I need it!

I hope you're all well and you enjoyed your freshers and are settling into uni well! I found that a lot of people left me formspring messages about starting uni and if you want me to help you with anything like, how to get your messy/loud flatmate to sort it out, feel free to contact me there and I'll do my best to help!

dress worn as top; new look / camel suede skirt; h&m / studded belt; primark / studded bag; topshop / sunglasses; vintage
These pictures were taken on my iPhone & they're a little bit grainy. My iPhone4 does take amazing photos but I think my boyfriend put a weird effect on them; sorry if you don't like them!
I got this skirt in h&m a few weeks ago now and I love it. It's just the perfect style for my pear shape and it's a colour which I really like but I've never had anything in this shade before. I wanted to wear it with something other than black, but I wasn't sure what colours would really go with it so instead of going with just a plain black top, I put on a dress I got from New Look ages ago which has a woman drawn on it. The skirt is real suede which I thought was amazing for £30! I hope they do more colours, I'd love it in black (obviously) or maybe a plum colour.
Standard 'oh my god the weather has been amazing recently' comment, but it really has! I haven't been out in it much though because of work so my pasty pins are staying under tights until I manage to get a bit of colour on them! It's jazz fest this weekend in my local town (otherwise known as beer fest) and I'm working which is rubbish! But hopefully I'll make it out a couple of evenings, I have NO idea what to wear though. I've lost a little bit of weight recently (can anyone even tell?) and I wore a bodycon dress on Tuesday night which I was so nervous about but after a few drinks it was fine!
I'm selling some stuff on eBay again, I keep updating it all the time but please take a look :)
I'm also constantly updating my Tumblr at the moment, I had my picture on the fuckyeahrings tumblr today which I was pleased about! Hope you're all having amazing weeks, do you have any Easter weekend plans?

Firstly, thank you for all of the lovely comments on my last post! I'm looking forward to having a lazy day soon and taking a look at all of your blogs and returning the favour :) I'm also only 4 followers away from 300, exciting! These are some more photographs from the weekend I spent having adventures with my boyfriend. This is quite a picture heavy post for me, a little nervous about posting it if I'm honest! But I had to post them, I just love how the colours have come out in the images. You really should have a look at my boyfriends Flickr, I know I'm biased, but I think his photos are stunning; he frames them so perfectly. We went out looking for places to explore so Craig could take some pictures, and we stumbled upon this incredible graffitied building on the way to Chester. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back to take some more photos. I'm doing a photography module this semester and I'm focusing it on graffiti and the idea of art and I'm really looking forward to cracking on with it! I bought this top from Primark a couple of weeks ago for £3! I was so pleased because I've been after one like it for ages. I'm wearing loads of jewellery in these photos, and this is pretty much the standard amount for me at the moment. I always wear different combinations of rings, but at the moment I absolutely love the three stoned one on my ring finger on the left had side. Also, I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but one of my rings used to be a fork! How 70's. I have such horrible fingers, my mum says I have babys hands but I think they look like old ladies, so no idea why I'd want to draw attention to them with my masses of rings! I'm also wearing earrings! I don't think I've posted pictures on here of me with earrings in, but I have so many pretty pairs at the moment (although I always wear odd ones) maybe I'll dedicate a post to them!

I was recently asked if I was religious as I wear a lot of necklaces and earrings which are crosses. It got me thinking about whether I'm disrespecting Christianity by wearing a cross because it is such a widely known symbol for that belief. I used to wear a set of rosary beads that I bought just because I loved them, but when a Catholic lady started talking to me about Catholicism (and I had to pretend I knew what she was on about!) I never wore them again! Personally, I wear my cross earrings and pendants because I love the shape. I don't feel that I'm disrespecting the religion or the symbolism of the cross because, at the end of the day, it's not like I'm wearing it next to a pentagram or anything. What do you think? Am I being disrespectful? I honestly don't know and I know that probably sounds ignorant, but that last thing I'd want to do is offend someones religion. And finally; Do you think graffiti is art?

topshop faux shearling collared aviator / topshop floral peterpan collar dress / primark tights / topshop patent ballet pumps / jewellery all from eBay/my mum/my boyfriend/fashionology / nail varnish is models own in dusty mauve layered over barry m berry ice cream.
This weekend was the first weekend that me and my boyfriend have been able to properly spend together without one of us having a tonne of work to do or me being ill (more on that later...ugh.) so we decided that instead of going out and spending money we don't really need to, we'd go out and play with his camera. My boyfriend loves taking pictures, and I thought I'd take the chance while I could and get him to nab some of my outfit; can you tell how uncomfortable I am in front of a bloody camera?! Please excuse what I like to call my 'dead eye syndrome'. I have such an angry looking face, I promise I'm not an angry person though! I bought this floral topshop dress in the sale a couple of months ago now, I've worn it a few times and really like how different it is to most things in my wardrobe. It's really floaty though, so I feel like it could look like maternity wear, but I was massively grateful for its forgiving nature after eating a huge Nandos resulting in what looked like a 6month old food baby! It was SO worth it though. Om nom nom! I wanted to say a huge thank you again to all of you who sent me lovely messages while I was unwell last week. I know, I know, all I seem to do is get poorly, but I swear I've never ever been that ill before I came to uni! Never had flu before I came here, and then I ended up in hospital with a kidney infection! Basically, since my flu about three weeks ago, I'd had a really achy back and I just sort of put it down to the flu (even though I've had kidney infections before, I didn't even consider that it would be that as I had no other symptoms...you know what I mean ladies ha!) So I ignored this pain for about three weeks, then all of a sudden I could barely move and I was having these horrible shivery fits because I had such a high temperature. I ended up in hospital for three/four days (honestly no idea, I was drugged up to my eyeballs!) and stabbed with so many needles :( I'm still bruised from them! But I'm 100% better now. Moral of the story; never ignore back pain again! And kidney infections can be suprisingly serious. I should have been more careful as I already have damage to my kidneys, but I have learnt my lesson. ANYWAY, enough on that. I don't know if you can really see in the pictures, but I've been wearing my beautiful crystal necklace, it's meant to help with healing and general wellbeing so it has not left my neck since I left hospital! I posted on twitter that I was thinking about selling some rings on here or maybe an external site; would any of you be interested? I get a lot of comments/emails/tweets/formsprings about my rings, and unfortunately I can never really give a proper answer. I've got a huge collection of rings, necklaces and earrings now, they're all silver and most are one of a kind. But I've been looking into buying wholesale so that I can share my finds with you. They'd probably range between £10 and £25 (for really large rings/pendants) but are all 925 silver, not plated, with semi-precious stones in. Let me know what you think or anything else you'd like to see :) And finally, I just wanted to say how much I LOVE this nail varnish. It's really translucent when worn alone, but if you wear it over another colour it goes almost chrome-like, really love how well it goes with my fists full of rings at the moment.

new beginnings!

Topshop cropped premium hairy peacoat / Primark two tone tights / H&M zip detail bag / New Look ballet pumps / Topman t-shirt / H&M bodycon skirt / eBay rings and necklace / Models Own nail varnish in Grace Green.

This coat is my new favourite, I absolutely adore it! I tweeted earlier about it, I had the huuuugest pack of stuff from Topshop ever this morning, honestly, I may have to photograph the bag it all came in! This coat is made of mohair and fills the void faux fur just can't. I've been looking for a fur coat for as long as I've blogged, and I've never found one that didn't swamp me. I think because I'm so short, they just look ridiculous on me, so this mohair beauty is my version of fur. It's got slightly cropped sleeves which I love, and wearing it made me feel like a hollywood actress ha! So I wore a huge eyeliner flick and Estee Lauder lipstick in my favourite colour, Fig - a gorgeous, creamy, deep red colour.

Underneath I wore my boyfriends skull detailed t-shirt from Topman with my basic black bodycon skirt. I've been wearing his tops a lot recently, I layer vest tops underneath them and they keep me so cosy! The tights were a present for Christmas and I really like them! They're lacy at the front but opaque at the back;

it's fuzzy, but my primark two tone tights.

I'm thinking of buying a pair of the Topshop striped tights with the vertical lines, I've seen them on a few bloggers and I love them.

I've still got the tags in my coat, so should I keep it? I love it, but maybe I'm seeing it through rose tinted glasses...let me know! How's everyones sale shopping coming along?

edit; only just realised when looking at the pictures that the skulls are in the shape of a union jack! best. t-shirt. EVER. I love union jacks!
Edit part 2; Really sorry, only just realised how shit quality the pictures have been uploading! Gutted as I've had a new camera so I just had a mini panic thinking my camera was broken, turns out Tinypic is just really mean when compressing my pictures - so I've switched to Flickr after having a look at what my favourite bloggers seem to use. Hope that's better!
